عَمْرُو بْنُ سَلَمَةَ الْجَرْمِيُّ

[Machine] I went with my father to the Prophet ﷺ as his people embraced Islam. He advised us, saying, "Let the one among you who knows the most Qur'an lead you in prayer." As I knew the most Qur'an, they made me lead them.  

الطبراني:١٤١٨٤حَدَّثَنَا زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ يَحْيَى السَّاجِيُّ ثَنَا زَيْدُ بْنُ أَخْرَمَ ثَنَا سَلْمُ بْنُ قُتَيْبَةَ ثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنَ رَبَاحٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عَمْرَو بْنَ سَلَمَةَ قَالَ

انْطَلَقْتُ مَعَ أَبِي إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ بِإِسْلَامِ قَوْمِهِ فَكَانَ فِيمَا أَوْصَانَا «لِيَؤُمَّكُمْ أَكْثَرُكُمْ قُرْآنًا» فَكُنْتُ أَكْثَرَهُمْ قُرْآنًا فَقَدَّمُونِي
