[AI] "Jibril went with the Prophet ﷺ to show him the rituals, and they came to Jamrat Al-Aqaba. Suddenly, Satan appeared to him and gave him an order, so he threw seven pebbles at him and he disappeared into the ground. Then they came to the middle Jamrat, and there was Satan again, so he gave him an order and threw seven pebbles at him, and he disappeared into the ground. Then they came to the third one, and he did the same with him. Then he gathered the pebbles and went from Arafat."

الطبراني:١٢٢٩٣ – حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ نَصْرِ بْنِ حُمَيْدٍ الْبَزَّازُ ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ التَّرْجُمَانِيُّ ثنا شُعَيْبُ بْنُ صَفْوَانَ عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ السَّائِبِ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ

«انْطَلَقَ جِبْرِيلُ بِالنَّبِيِّ ﷺ لِيُرِيَهُ الْمَنَاسِكَ فَأَتَى بِهِ جَمْرَةَ الْعَقَبَةِ فَإِذَا إِبْلِيسُ عَلَيْهِ فَأَمَرَهُ فَرَمَاهُ بِسَبْعِ حَصَيَاتٍ فَسَاخَ فِي الْأَرْضِ ثُمَّ أَتَى الْجَمْرَةَ الْوُسْطَى فَإِذَا هُوَ بإِبليسَ فَأَمَرَهُ فَرَمَاهُ بِسَبْعِ حَصَيَاتٍ فَسَاخَ فِي الْأَرْضِ ثُمَّ أَتَى الثَّالِثَةَ فَفَعَلَ ذَلِكَ بِهِ ثُمَّ أَتَى بِهِ جَمْعَاءَ ثُمَّ لَبَّى مِنْ عَرَفَاتٍ»

Reason for the stoning of the Jamarat as a rite of Hajj

"When Ibrahim, the beloved friend of Allah, performed the rituals, Satan appeared to him at the Jamrat al-Aqabah and threw stones at him seven times until he sank into the ground. Then he appeared to him at the second Jamrah and threw stones at him seven times until he sank into the ground. Then he appeared to him at the third Jamrah and threw stones at him seven times until he sank into the ground."

Ibn Abbas said, "You are stoning the Shaytan and boasting about the faith of your father."

الحاكم:١٧١٣ – حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ صَالِحِ بْنِ هَانِئٍ ثنا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ أَنَسٍ الْقُرَشِيُّ ثنا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنِي إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ طَهْمَانَ ثنا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَفَعَهُ قَالَ

«لَمَّا أَتَى إِبْرَاهِيمُ خَلِيلُ اللَّهِ الْمَنَاسِكَ، عَرَضَ لَهُ الشَّيْطَانُ عِنْدَ جَمْرَةِ الْعَقَبَةِ، فَرَمَاهُ بِسَبْعِ حَصَيَاتٍ حَتَّى سَاخَ فِي الْأَرْضِ. ثُمَّ عَرَضَ لَهُ عِنْدَ الْجَمْرَةِ الثَّانِيَةِ، فَرَمَاهُ بِسَبْعِ حَصَيَاتٍ حَتَّى سَاخَ فِي الْأَرْضِ. ثُمَّ عَرَضَ لَهُ عِنْدِ الْجَمْرَةِ الثَّالِثَةِ، فَرَمَاهُ بِسَبْعِ حَصَيَاتٍ حَتَّى سَاخَ فِي الْأَرْضِ».

قَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ «الشَّيْطَانَ تَرْجُمُونِ وَمِلَّةَ أَبِيكُمْ تَنْعُونَ»

هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحٌ عَلَى شَرْطِ الشَّيْخَيْنِ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ
