[Machine] The Jews used to say that this world lasts for seven thousand years, and we are only punished with a day in the fire for every one thousand years. And indeed, it is only seven numbered days. So Allah revealed in that, and they said, "The fire will not touch us except for a limited number of days." Until His saying, "In it they will abide eternally."  

الطبراني:١١١٦٠حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْمَعْمَرِيُّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ الرَّازِيُّ ثنا سَلَمَةُ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ سَيْفِ بْنِ سُلَيْمَانَ عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ

أَنَّ يَهُودَ كَانُوا يَقُولُونَ هَذِهِ الدُّنْيَا سَبْعَةُ آلَافِ سَنَةٍ وَإِنَّمَا نُعَذَّبُ لِكُلِّ أَلْفِ سَنَةٍ يَوْمًا فِي النَّارِ وَإِنَّمَا هِي سَبْعَةُ أَيَّامٍ مَعْدُودَاتٌ فَأَنْزَلَ اللهُ ﷻ فِي ذَلِكَ وَقَالُوا {لَنْ تَمَسَّنا النَّارُ إِلَّا أَيَّامًا مَعْدُودَةً} إِلَى قَوْلِهِ {فِيهَا خَالِدُونَ}
