"إِنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ عَبْدُ الرَّحَمنِ بْنُ عوْف فَاضَتْ عَيْنُه فَقَدْ فَاضَ قَلبُه".

حل وابن عساكر عن معنمر بن سليمان عن أَبيه عن الحضرمى قال:  

قرأ رجُلٌ -عند رسول اللَّه ﷺ ليِّنُ الصّوتِ فما بقى أحَدٌ من القَومِ إِلا فَاضَتْ عينُهُ غَيْرَ عَبْد الرحْمن بن عوفٍ فقال: رسول اللَّه ﷺ: فذكره"
