"عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمن السلْمِي قَالَ: حدَّثَنَا مَنْ كَان (يَقربُنَا) (3) مْنِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ أَنهُمْ كانُوا (يقروُنَ) (* *) مِنْ رسولِ اللهِ ﷺ عَشْرَ آيَاتٍ ولا يَأخُذُونَ فِي العشر الأُخْرَى حَتَّى يَعْلمُوا مَا فِي هذِهِ مِنَ العلْمِ وَالعَمْلِ، فَعَلمَنا العَلِم والعَمَل".

[Machine] We were informed by one of the companions of the Prophet ﷺ who used to teach us that they used to memorize ten verses at a time from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and they would not move on to the next ten until they had understood the knowledge and implemented the teachings in these verses. They said, "So we learned the knowledge and its application."
حَدَّثَنَا مَنْ كَانَ يُقْرِئُنَا مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهُمْ كَانُوا يَقْتَرِئُونَ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ عَشْرَ آيَاتٍ فَلَا يَأْخُذُونَ فِي الْعَشْرِ الْأُخْرَى حَتَّى يَعْلَمُوا مَا فِي هَذِهِ مِنَ الْعِلْمِ وَالْعَمَلِ قَالُوا فَعَلِمْنَا الْعِلْمَ وَالْعَمَلَ
