"إنَّ أُمَّتِى يسوقُها قَومٌ عِراضُ الوجُوه، صِغَارُ الأَعين كَأَنَّ وجُوهَهُم الْحُجَفُ ، ثَلاثَ مِرارٍ حتَّى يُلْحِقُوهُم بجزيرةِ الْعرب أَمَّا السَّابقَةُ الأُولى فينجُو من هرب مِنهُم، وأَمَّا الثَّانِيةُ فَيهلِكُ بعض وينجُو بعض، وأَمَّا الثَّالِثَةُ فَيَصْطَلِحُونَ كُلُّهُم من
بقِى مِنهم، قَالُوا: يا رسُولَ اللَّه منْ هُمْ؟ قَالَ: التُّركُ، أَما والَّذى نَفْسِى بيدِه لَيرْبطُنَّ خُيُولَهُم إِلى سوارِى مسَاجدِ الْمُسَلِمين ".
In the tradition telling that people with small eyes, i.e. the Turks, will fight against you, the prophet ﷺ said: You will drive them off three times till you catch up with them in Arabia. On the first occasion when you drive them off those who fly will be safe, on the second occasion some will be safe and some will perish, but on the third occasion they will be extirpated, or he said words to that effect.
عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فِي حَدِيثِ يُقَاتِلُكُمْ قَوْمٌ صِغَارُ الأَعْيُنِ يَعْنِي التُّرْكَ قَالَ تَسُوقُونَهُمْ ثَلاَثَ مِرَارٍ حَتَّى تُلْحِقُوهُمْ بِجَزِيرَةِ الْعَرَبِ فَأَمَّا فِي السِّيَاقَةِ الأُولَى فَيَنْجُو مَنْ هَرَبَ مِنْهُمْ وَأَمَّا فِي الثَّانِيَةِ فَيَنْجُو بَعْضٌ وَيَهْلِكُ بَعْضٌ وَأَمَّا فِي الثَّالِثَةِ فَيُصْطَلَمُونَ أَوْ كَمَا قَالَ
[Machine] I was sitting with the Prophet ﷺ , and I heard the Prophet ﷺ say, "Verily, my Ummah will be driven by a people with flat faces, small eyes, as if their faces are pieces of stone. They will keep driving them until they reach the Arabian Peninsula. As for the first group, they will escape from them, and as for the second group, some will perish while others will survive. As for the third group, they will all be taken as captives." They said, "O Prophet of Allah, who are they?" He said, "They are the Turks." The Prophet ﷺ said, "By the One in whose hand is my soul, they will tie their horses to the outer walls of the mosques of the Muslims." Buraydah used to take two or three camels with him for travel and supplies, preparing for the escape from what he had heard from the Prophet ﷺ regarding the calamity concerning the Turks.
كُنْتُ جَالِسًا عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَسَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَقُولُ إِنَّ أُمَّتِي يَسُوقُهَا قَوْمٌ عِرَاضُ الْوُجُوهِ صِغَارُ الْأَعْيُنِ كَأَنَّ وُجُوهَهُمُ الْحَجَفُ ثَلَاثَ مِرَارٍ حَتَّى يُلْحِقُوهُمْ بِجَزِيرَةِ الْعَرَبِ أَمَّا السَّائقَةُ الْأُولَى فَيَنْجُو مَنْ هَرَبَ مِنْهُمْ وَأَمَّا الثَّانِيَةُ فَيَهْلِكُ بَعْضٌ وَيَنْجُو بَعْضٌ وَأَمَّا الثَّالِثَةُ فَيُصْطَلَمُونَ كُلُّهُمْ مَنْ بَقِيَ مِنْهُمْ قَالُوا يَا نَبِيَّ اللهِ مَنْ هُمْ؟ قَالَ هُمُ التُّرْكُ قَالَ أَمَا وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ لَيَرْبِطُنَّ خُيُولَهُمْ إِلَى سَوَارِي مَسَاجِدِ الْمُسْلِمِينَ قَالَ وَكَانَ بُرَيْدَةُ لَا يُفَارِقُهُ بَعِيرَانِ أَوْ ثَلَاثَةٌ وَمَتَاعُ السَّفَرِ وَالْأَسْقِيَةُ يُعِدُّ ذَلِكَ لِلْهَرَبِ مِمَّا سَمِعَ مِنَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ مِنَ الْبَلَاءِ مِنْ أَمْرِ التُّرْكِ
