[Machine] I went to visit Abu Sa'id al-Khudri and joined him in a gathering. He narrated that one day, he woke up with a severe stomachache due to hunger. His wife or mother said to him, "Go to the Prophet ﷺ and ask him for something to eat." So, Abu Sa'id went to the Prophet and asked him. The Prophet gave him something to eat. Then, another person came to him and asked, and the Prophet gave him as well. Abu Sa'id said, "I continued asking until I was able to find something." He came to the Prophet again, who was delivering a sermon, and Abu Sa'id overheard him saying, "Whoever seeks Allah's forgiveness will be forgiven by Him, and whoever seeks independence from worldly possessions, Allah will make him self-sufficient. And whoever asks us (the Prophet and his companions), we either give him what he needs or console him." Abu Hamza al-Shakk, he who abstains from asking us or seeking our assistance is dearer to us than the one who asks." Abu Sa'id then said, "So, I returned and did not ask the Prophet for anything, but Allah continued to provide for us until I knew that among the Ansar, there were households with greater wealth than us."
