The Companions of the Prophet ﷺ said: Messenger of Allah ﷺ we eat but we are not satisfied. He said: Perhaps you eat separately. They replied: Yes. He said: If you gather together at your food and mention Allah's name, you will be blessed in it. Abu Dawud said: If you are invited to a wedding feast before you, do not take it until the owner of the house (i.e. the host) allows you (to eat).

أَنَّ أَصْحَابَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّا نَأْكُلُ وَلاَ نَشْبَعُ قَالَ فَلَعَلَّكُمْ تَفْتَرِقُونَ قَالُوا نَعَمْ قَالَ فَاجْتَمِعُوا عَلَى طَعَامِكُمْ وَاذْكُرُوا اسْمَ اللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ يُبَارَكْ لَكُمْ فِيهِ

“O Messenger of Allah, we eat and do not feel full.” He said: “Perhaps you eat separately?” They said: “Yes.” He said: “Gather to eat together, and mention the Name of Allah over it, then it will be blessed for you.”

عَنْ جَدِّهِ وَحْشِيٍّ أَنَّهُمْ قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّا نَأْكُلُ وَلاَ نَشْبَعُ قَالَ فَلَعَلَّكُمْ تَأْكُلُونَ مُتَفَرِّقِينَ قَالُوا نَعَمْ قَالَ فَاجْتَمِعُوا عَلَى طَعَامِكُمْ وَاذْكُرُوا اسْمَ اللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ يُبَارَكْ لَكُمْ فِيهِ

“O Messenger of Allah, we eat and do not feel full.” He said: “Perhaps you eat separately?” They said: “Yes.” He said: “Gather to eat together, and mention the Name of Allah over it, then it will be blessed for you.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 3286)

لِلنَّبِيِّ ﷺ إِنَّا نَأْكُلُ وَمَا نَشْبَعُ قَالَ فَلَعَلَّكُمْ تَأْكُلُونَ مُفْتَرِقِينَ اجْتَمِعُوا عَلَى طَعَامِكُمْ وَاذْكُرُوااسْمَ اللهِ عَلَيْهِ يُبَارَكْ لَكُمْ فِيهِ

[AI] "O Messenger of Allah, indeed we eat and do not feel satiated." He said, "Perhaps you separate from your food, come together upon it, and mention the name of Allah, so that He may bless it for you." We brought this narration as a witness.

يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّا نَأْكُلُ وَمَا نَشْبَعُ قَالَ «فَلَعَلَّكُمْ تَفْتَرِقُونَ عَنْ طَعَامِكُمْ اجْتَمِعُوا عَلَيْهِ وَاذْكُرُوا اسْمَ اللَّهِ يُبَارَكْ لَكُمْ» أخرجناه شاهدا

[AI] They said, "O Messenger of Allah, we eat but do not feel satisfied." He said, "Do you gather together for your food or eat separately?" They replied, "We eat separately." He said, "Gather together for your food and invoke the name of Allah, and He will bless it for you."

قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّا نَأْكُلُ وَلَا نَشْبَعُ قَالَ «تَجْتَمِعُونَ عَلَى طَعَامِكُمْ أَوْ تَتَفَرَّقُونَ؟ » قَالُوا نَتَفَرَّقُ قَالَ « اجْتَمِعُوا عَلَى طَعَامِكُمْ وَاذْكُرُوا اسْمَ اللَّهِ يُبَارَكْ لَكُمْ»

[AI] "The companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'O Messenger of Allah, we eat but do not feel satisfied.' He said, 'Perhaps you eat separately.' They replied, 'Yes.' He said, 'Gather together for your meal and mention the name of Allah upon it. It will then be blessed for you.'"

أَنَّ أَصْحَابَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّا نَأْكُلُ فَلَا نَشْبَعُ قَالَ «فَلَعَلَّكُمْ تَفْتَرِقُونَ» قَالُوا نَعَمْ قَالَ «فَاجْتَمِعُوا عَلَى طَعَامِكُمْ وَاذْكُرُوا اسْمَ اللهِ عَلَيْهِ يُبَارَكْ لَكُمْ فِيهِ»

[AI] "O Messenger of Allah, indeed we eat but do not feel satiated." He said, "Perhaps you are separating from your food. Gather together around it and remember the name of Allah the Exalted, He will bless it for you."

يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّا نَأْكُلُ وَمَا نَشْبَعُ قَالَ فَلَعَلَّكُمْ تَفْتَرِقُونَ عَنْ طَعَامِكُمُ اجْتَمِعُوا عَلَيْهِ وَاذْكُرُوا اسْمَ اللهِ تَعَالَى يُبَارَكْ لَكُمْ
