"عَنْ عُرْوةَ بنِ رُوَيْم أَنَّ عبد الرَّحْمن بْنِ قُرطٍ صَعِدَ مِنْبَرهُ فَرأى الزَّعْفَرانَ فِي أَهْلِ اليمنِ، والعُصْفَرَ في قُضَاعَة، فَقَالَ: يَا لَكَ فَضْلًا، يَا لك كَرَامَةً،

ما أظْهركَ، يَا لكَ نِعْمة ما أسْبَغك، اعْلَمُوا أيُّها الناسُ أَنَهُ ما طعِنَ عَنْ جاده قوْمِ طاعن [قط] الدارقطنى في السنن أشدُّ عَليْهم مِن نِعْمَة اللهِ، لا يُطِيقُونَ ردَّهَا، وأنَّهُ لما قامت النِّعْمة عَلَى المنْعَم عليه بالشُّكْرِ لِلْمُنْعمِ للهِ رَبِّ العَالَمِينَ"
