"We performed the Maghrib (prayer) with the Messenger of Allah, then those who went back went back, and those who stayed, stayed. Then the Messenger of Allah came back in a hurry, out of breath, with his garment pulled up to his knees, and said: 'Be of good cheer, for your Lord has opened one of the gates of heaven and is boasting of you before the angels, saying: "Look at My slaves; they have fulfilled one obligatory duty and are awaiting another."

صَلَّيْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ الْمَغْرِبَ فَرَجَعَ مَنْ رَجَعَ وَعَقَّبَ مَنْ عَقَّبَ فَجَاءَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مُسْرِعًا قَدْ حَفَزَهُ النَّفَسُ و قَدْ حَسَرَ عَنْ رُكْبَتَيْهِ فَقَالَ أَبْشِرُوا هَذَا رَبُّكُمْ قَدْ فَتَحَ بَابًا مِنْ أَبْوَابِ السَّمَاءِ يُبَاهِي بِكُمُ الْمَلاَئِكَةَ يَقُولُ انْظُرُوا إِلَى عِبَادِي قَدْ قَضَوْا فَرِيضَةً وَهُمْ يَنْتَظِرُونَ أُخْرَى

[AI] About the Prophet ﷺ , we prayed with the Prophet ﷺ one night, then those who left, left, and those who stayed, stayed. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came before the people started the Isha prayer. He came with agitated breath, raising his index finger like this, and clasping his fingers together twenty-nine times. He pointed with his index finger towards the sky and said, "Rejoice, O Muslim nation! This is your Lord, the Mighty and Majestic, who has opened a gate from the gates of the heavens, showing off with you to the angels. He is saying, 'O my angels, look at My slaves fulfilling one obligation and waiting to fulfill another.'"

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ صَلَّيْنَا مَعَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ ذَاتَ لَيْلَةٍ فَعَقَّبَ مَنْ عَقَّبَ وَرَجَعَ مَنْ رَجَعَ فَجَاءَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَثُوبَ النَّاسُ لِصَلَاةِ الْعِشَاءِ فَجَاءَ وَقَدْ حَفَزَهُ النَّفَسُ رَافِعًا إِصْبَعَهُ هَكَذَا وَعَقَدَ تِسْعًا وَعِشْرِينَ وَأَشَارَ بِإِصْبَعِهِ السَّبَّابَةِ إِلَى السَّمَاءِ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ أَبْشِرُوا مَعْشَرَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ هَذَا رَبُّكُمْ ﷻ قَدْ فَتَحَ بَابًا مِنْ أَبْوَابِ السَّمَاءِ يُبَاهِي بِكُمُ الْمَلَائِكَةَ يَقُولُ يَا مَلَائِكَتِي انْظُرُوا إِلَىعِبَادِي أَدَّوْا فَرِيضَةً وَهُمْ يَنْتَظِرُونَ أُخْرَى

"أَبْشِروا يا مَعْشرَ المسلمينَ، أبْشِروا هذَا ربُّكم فَتَحَ عليكم بابًا مِنْ أَبوَابِ السَّمَاءِ يُبَاهِى بكم الملائكة يقولُ: انْظُرُوا إلى عِبادِى قَدْ قضَوْا فَرِيضةً وَهُمْ ينتظِرُون أُخْرَى".
