Ibn Umar on shortening prayer while traveling
[AI] He met Ibn Umar at Mina and asked him about prayer while traveling. He said, “Two rakahs.” He said, “What do you think, while we are here in Mina?” At that, irritation overtook him.
He said, “Woe to you! Have you heard of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ?” I said, “Yes, and I have believed in him.” He said, “Indeed, when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out, he would pray two rakahs; so pray if you wish, or leave it.”
