The duʿāʾ of Prophet Daniel that saved him from the lions

suyuti:4-1061bʿAli

Bukhtanassar (Nebuchadnezzer) brought Prophet Dāniyāl (Daniel, peace be upon him) and ordered him to be imprisoned and cast into a den with two lions. He was left there for five days, after which the den was opened. To his astonishment, Daniel was found praying, and the two lions had not harmed him. Bukhtanassar asked him, "Tell me, what did you say? How were you saved?"

˹Dāniyāl˺ replied, "I said, 'Praise be to Allah, who does not forget those who remember Him. Praise be to Allah, who does not disappoint those who have hope in Him. Praise be to Allah, the One to whom those who place their trust never turn in vain. Praise be to Allah, who is our refuge when all other means fail. Praise be to Allah, our hope when our deeds disappoint us. Praise be to Allah, who relieves our distress in times of difficulty. Praise be to Allah, who rewards excellence with excellence. Praise be to Allah, who rewards patience with salvation.'"
