"نُهِيتُ أَنْ أَقْرَأَ الْقُرآنَ في الرُّكُوعِ وَالسُّجُودِ، فَإِذَا رَكَعْتُمْ فَعَظِّمُوا الله، وَإِذَا سَجَدتُمْ فَاجْتَهِدُوا في المسأَلَةِ، فَقَمِنٌ أَنْ يُسْتَجَابَ لَكُمْ".

“When you bow, then proclaim the might of Allah, and when you prostrate, offer supplication, for it is more likely that you will receive an answer.ʿ
وَقَالَ إِذَا رَكَعْتُمْ فَعَظِّمُوا اللهَ وَإِذَا سَجَدْتُمْ فَادْعُوا فَقَمِنٌ أَنْ يُسْتَجَابَ لَكُمْ
Can I recite Qurʿan when bowing and prostrating? ʿAli ؓ said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “I have been forbidden to recite Qurʿan when bowing and prostrating. When you bow, then proclaim the might of Allah, and when you prostrate, offer supplication, for it is more likely that you will receive an answer.”
سَأَلَهُ رَجُلٌ آقْرَأُ فِي الرُّكُوعِ وَالسُّجُودِ؟ فَقَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِنِّي نُهِيتُ أَنْ أَقْرَأَ فِي الرُّكُوعِ وَالسُّجُودِ فَإِذَا رَكَعْتُمْ فَعَظِّمُوا اللهَ وَإِذَا سَجَدْتُمْ فَاجْتَهِدُوا فِي الْمَسْأَلَةِ فَقَمِنٌ أَنْ يُسْتَجَابَ لَكُمْ
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "I have been prohibited from reciting while in a state of bowing or prostration. As for the bowing, glorify your Lord in it, and as for the prostration, strive in supplication, as it is most likely that you will be answered."
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «إِنِّي نُهِيتُ أَنْ أَقْرَأَ وَأَنَا رَاكِعٌ أَوْ سَاجِدٌ فَأَمَّا الرُّكُوعُ فَعَظِّمُوا فِيهِ الرَّبَّ وَأَمَّا السُّجُودُ فَاجْتَهِدُوا فِي الدُّعَاءِ فَقَمِنٌ أَنْ يُسْتَجَابَ لَكُمْ»
"عَنْ عَلِىٍّ! أنَّهُ نُهِىَ أَنْ يَقْرَأَ الْقُرآنَ وَهُوَ رَاكِعٌ، وَقَالَ: إذا رَكعْتُمْ فَعَظِّمُوا الرَّبَّ، وَإذَا سَجَدْتُمْ فَادْعُوا فَقَمَنٌ (*) أن يُسْتَجَاب لَكُمْ".
" عَنِ النُّعْمَانِ بْنِ سعْد، عَنْ عَلِىٍّ رَفَعَهُ: أَنَّهُ نَهَى (أَنْ) يُقْرأَ الْقَرآنُ وَهُو رَاكِعٌ، فَقال: إِذا رَكَعْتُمْ فَعَظِّمُوا الله، وِإذا سَجَدْتُمْ فَادْعُوا، فَقَمِنٌ أَنْ يُسْتَجَابَ لَكُمْ ".
