if anyone would like to have the fullest measure granted to him when he invokes blessings on us, the members of the prophet’s family, he should say: O Allah, bless Muhammad, the unlettered Prophet, his wives who are the mother of the faithful, his off springs, and the people of his house as Thou didst bless the family of Abraham. Thou art indeed praiseworthy and glorious.  

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ مَنْ سَرَّهُ أَنْ يَكْتَالَ بِالْمِكْيَالِ الأَوْفَى إِذَا صَلَّى عَلَيْنَا أَهْلَ الْبَيْتِ فَلْيَقُلِ اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ النَّبِيِّ وَأَزْوَاجِهِ أُمَّهَاتِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَذُرِّيَّتِهِ وَأَهْلِ بَيْتِهِ كَمَا صَلَّيْتَ عَلَى آلِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ إِنَّكَ حَمِيدٌ مَجِيدٌ  

[Machine] On the authority of the Prophet ﷺ, he said, "Whoever wishes to increase his portion of blessings when he sends prayers upon us, the members of the Prophet's household, let him say, 'O Allah, send prayers upon Muhammad the Prophet, his wives, the mothers of the believers, his descendants, and the members of his household, just as You sent prayers upon Ibrahim. Surely You are Praiseworthy, Glorious.' It is as if he singled out his wives and descendants for mention in a specific way, and then returned to generalization, so that others from his household may be included in them, and upon all of them be peace."  

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ مَنْ سَرَّهُ أَنْ يَكْتَالَ بِالْمِكْيَالِ الْأَوْفَى إِذَا صَلَّى عَلَيْنَا أَهْلَ الْبَيْتِ فَلْيَقُلْ اللهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ النَّبِيِّ وَأَزْوَاجِهِ أُمَّهَاتِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَذُرِّيَّتِهِ وَأَهْلِ بَيْتِهِ كَمَا صَلَّيْتَ عَلَى إِبْرَاهِيمَ إِنَّكَ حَمِيدٌ مَجِيدٌ فَكَأَنَّهُ ﷺ أَفْرَدَ أَزْوَاجَهُ وَذُرِّيَّتَهُ بِالذِّكْرِ عَلَى وَجْهِ التَّأْكِيدِ ثُمَّ رَجَعَ إِلَى التَّعْمِيمِ؛ لِيُدْخِلَ فِيهَا غَيْرَ الْأَزْوَاجِ وَالذُّرِّيَّةِ مِنْ أَهْلِ بَيْتِهِ ﷺ وَعَلَيْهِمْ أَجْمَعِينَ
