"عَنْ عَوْفِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ الأَشْجَعِىِّ أَنَّ يَهُودِيًا نَخَسَ بِامْرَأَةٍ مُسْلِمَةٍ، ثُمَّ حَثَا عَلَيْهَا التُّرَابَ يُرِيدُهَا عَلَى نَفْسِهَا، فَرُفِعَ ذَلِكَ إِلَى عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ، فَقَالَ عُمَرُ: إِنَّ لِهَؤُلَاءِ عَهْدًا مَا وَفَوْا لَكُمْ بِعْهدِهِمْ (فَإِذَا لَمْ يَفُوا لكُمْ بعَهْدِكُم) () فَلَا عَهْدَ لَهُمْ (قال) فَصَلَبَهُ ( *) (عُمَرُ) ".
