السيوطي:٢-٤٩٧b –

"عَن السائب بن يزيد أن رجلًا قال لعمر بن الخطاب: لأن لا أخافُ في الله لومة لائمٍ، خيرٌ لِى أم أقبل على نفسى، فقال: أَمَّا من وَلِىَ من أمرِ المسلمين شيئًا فلا يخافُ في الله لومةَ لائم، ومن كان خَلْوًا فليقل على نفسِه ولْيَنْصَح لِوَلِىِّ أَمْرِه".

"عَن الزُّهُرى أن رجلا قال لعمرَ بنِ الخطابِ: أَلَا أكونُ بمنزلةِ من لا يخاف في اللَّه لومة لائم؟ فقال: أما إن تلى في الناس شيئا فلا تخف في اللَّه لومة لائم وأمَّا أنتَ خلوٌ من أمرهم فأكِبَّ على نفسِك، وأمرْ بالمعروفِ وانْه عن المنكر".
