"عن عبد اللَّه بن عامر بن ربيعة قال: اغْتَسَلْتُ أنا وآخرُ، فرآنا عمر بن الخطاب وَأَحَدُنَا يَنْظُرُ إلى صاحبه، فقال: إنى لأخشى أنا تكونا من الخلف الذى قال اللَّه: {فَخَلَفَ مِنْ بَعْدِهِمْ خَلْفٌ} الآية".

"عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّه بْنِ عَامِرِ بْنِ رَبيعَةَ قَالَ: اغْتَسَلتُ أنَا وآخرُ، فَرآنَا عُمَرُ ابْنُ الخَطَّاب وَأَحَدُنَا يَنْظُرُ إِلَى صَاحبه قَالَ: إِنِّى لأَخْشَى أَنْ يَكُونَا منْ خَلفِ الَّذى قَالَ اللَّه ﷻ {فَخَلَفَ مِنْ بَعْدِهِمْ خَلْفٌ أَضَاعُوا الصَّلَاةَ وَاتَّبَعُوا الشَّهَوَاتِ فَسَوْفَ يَلْقَوْنَ غَيًّا} (*) ".
