Have the Taqwa of Allah as His due, and do not die except as Muslims. And the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "If only a drop of Az-Zaqqum were to drip into the abode of the world, it would spoil the peoples' livelihood, so how about the person for whom it is his food?"

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَرَأَ هَذِهِ الآيَةَ (اتَّقُوا اللَّهَ حَقَّ تُقَاتِهِ وَلاَ تَمُوتُنَّ إِلاَّ وَأَنْتُمْ مُسْلِمُونَ ) قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ لَوْ أَنَّ قَطْرَةً مِنَ الزَّقُّومِ قُطِرَتْ فِي دَارِ الدُّنْيَا لأَفْسَدَتْ عَلَى أَهْلِ الدُّنْيَا مَعَايِشَهُمْ فَكَيْفَ بِمَنْ يَكُونُ طَعَامَهُ

“O you who believe! Have fear of Allah as is His due, and die not except as Muslims. [3:102] (Then he said): ‘If a drop of Zaqqum were to be dropped on the earth, it would ruin the livelihood of the people of this world, so how about those who have no food other than it (i.e. Zaqqum)?’”

أَنَّهُ كَانَ عِنْدَ الْحَجَرِ وَعِنْدَهُ مِحْجَنٌ يَضْرِبُ بِهِ الْحَجَرَ وَيُقَبِّلُهُ فَقَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ {يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا اتَّقُوا اللهَ حَقَّ تُقَاتِهِ وَلا تَمُوتُنَّ إِلا وَأَنْتُمْ مُسْلِمُونَ} [آل عمران 102] لَوْ أَنَّ قَطْرَةً مِنَ الزَّقُّومِ قُطِرَتْ فِي الْأَرْضِ لَأَمَرَّتْ عَلَى أَهْلِ الدُّنْيَا مَعِيشَتَهُمْ فَكَيْفَ بِمَنْ هُوَ طَعَامُهُ وَلَيْسَ لَهُ طَعَامٌ غَيْرُهُ

[AI] It is reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ recited the following verse: "O you who believe! Fear Allah as He should be feared and do not die except as Muslims." [Al Imran 102] He ﷺ then said, "By the One in whose hand is my soul, if a drop of Zamzam water was poured into the oceans of the Earth, it would not be corrupted." And in another narration by Wahb ibn Jarir, he ﷺ said, "I have turned away the luxuries of this world, so how can I be concerned with its sustenance?"

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ تَلَا هَذِهِ الْآيَةَ {يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا اتَّقُوا اللَّهَ حَقَّ تُقَاتِهِ وَلَا تَمُوتُنَّ إِلَّا وَأَنْتُمْ مُسْلِمُونَ} [آل عمران 102] قَالَ «وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ لَوْ أَنَّ قَطْرَةً مِنَ الزَّقُّومِ قُطِرَتْ فِي بِحَارِ الْأَرْضِ لَفَسَدَتْ» وَفِي حَدِيثِ وَهْبِ بْنِ جَرِيرٍ «لَأَمَرَّتْ عَلَى أَهْلِ الدُّنْيَا مَعَايِشَهُمْ فَكَيْفَ بِمَنْ تَكُونُ طَعَامَهُ؟»

[AI] That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ recited this verse, "Fear Allah as He should be feared." Then he said, "If a drop of the Zaqoom plant were to drop into the oceans of the world, it would spoil their sustenance. So, how would it be for the one who consumes it?"
