quran:56:46 –

And they used to persist in the great violation,  

and they used to persist in the great sin, namely, idolatry.
القرآن:٥٦:٤٦ –

وَكَانُوا يُصِرُّونَ عَلَى الْحِنْثِ الْعَظِيمِ  

{وكانوا يصرون على الحنث} الذنب {العظيم} أي الشرك.
