[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ did not prohibit it, but his companions fell into the trap of Khaibar, so he forbade them from it.  

الكبرى للنسائي:٦٨٠٥أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ حُرَيْثٍ قَالَ قَعَدْنَا إِلَى رَجُلٍ يُقَالُ لَهُ سَعِيدُ بْنُ الْمُسَيِّبِ فَذَكَرُوا لَهُ حَدِيثَ ابْنَ عُمَرَ فِي الْجَرِّ فَقَالَ

«إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ لَمْ يُحَرِّمْهُ وَلَكِنْ أَصْحَابُهُ وَقَعُوا فِي جِرَارِ خَيْبَرَ فَنَهَاهُمْ عَنْهُ»
