Narrated Maimun bin Siyah that he asked Anas bin Malik, "O Abu Hamza! What makes the life and property of a person sacred?" He replied, "Whoever says, 'None has the right to be worshipped but Allah', faces our Qibla during the prayers, prays like us and eats our slaughtered animal, then he is a Muslim, and has got the same rights and obligations as other Muslims have."

The Prophet ﷺ said: I am commanded to fight with men till they testify that there is no god but Allah, and that Muhammad is His servant and His Apostle, face our qiblah (direction of prayer), eat what we slaughter, and pray like us. When they do that, their life and property are unlawful for us except what is due to them. They will have the same rights as the Muslims have, and have the same responsibilities as the Muslims have.

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ wrote to Al-Mundhir ibn Sawi, "Whoever prays our prayers, faces our qiblah, and eats our slaughtered meat, then he is a Muslim with the protection of Allah and the protection of the Messenger ﷺ."

كَتَبَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِلَى الْمُنْذِرِ بْنِ سَاوَى «مَنْ صَلَّى صَلَاتَنَا وَاسْتَقْبَلَ قِبْلَتَنَا وَأَكَلَ ذَبِيحَتَنَا فَذَاكُمُ الْمُسْلِمُ لَهُ ذِمَّةُ اللهِ وَذِمَّةُ الرَّسُولِ ﷺ»

The Messenger of Allah [SAW] said: "I have been commanded to fight the idolators until they bear witness to La ilaha illallah (there is none worthy of worship except Allah) and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah [SAW]. If they bear witness to La ilaha illallah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah [SAW], and they face our Qiblah, eat our slaughtered animals, and pray as we do, then their blood and wealth become forbidden except for a right that is due, and they will have the same rights and obligations as the Muslims." أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «أُمِرْتُ أَنْ أُقَاتِلَ النَّاسَ حَتَّى يَشْهَدُوا أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وَأَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا رَسُولُ اللهِ فَإِذَا شَهِدُوا أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وَأَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا رَسُولُ اللهِ وَاسْتَقْبَلُوا قِبْلَتَنَا وَأَكَلُوا ذَبِيحَتَنَا وَصَلَّوْا صَلَاتَنَا فَقَدْ حَرُمَتْ عَلَيْنَا دِمَاؤُهُمْ وَأَمْوَالُهُمْ إِلَّا بِحَقِّهَا لَهُمْ مَا لِلْمُسْلِمِينَ وَعَلَيْهِمْ مَا عَلَيْهِمْ»

The Prophet ﷺ said: I am commanded to fight with men till they testify that there is no god but Allah, and that Muhammad is His servant and His Apostle, face our qiblah (direction of prayer), eat what we slaughter, and pray like us. When they do that, their life and property are unlawful for us except what is due to them. They will have the same rights as the Muslims have, and have the same responsibilities as the Muslims have. "أمِرْتُ أن أقاتِلَ النَّاسَ حتَّى يَشْهدوا أن لا إِله إِلَّا اللهُ، وأن محمدًا رسولُ اللهِ، وأن يَسْتقْبِلُوا قِبْلتَنَا ويأكلُوا ذَبِيحَتَنَا، ويُصَلُّوا صلاتَنَا، فَإِذا فعلُوا ذَلِك فقد حرمَتْ علينَا دِمَاؤُهْم وأموالُهم إِلا بِحقِّها, لَهُمْ مَا لِلمُسْلِمينَ وعَليهِمْ ما على المُسْلمين".
