[Machine] A rider passed by us while we were in Mina with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ calling out to the people, "Do not fast these days, for they are days of eating and drinking." My sister said, "This is Ali ibn Abi Talib." And I said, "No, it is someone else."

الكبرى للنسائي:٢٨٩٢ – أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْهَيْثَمِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَرْمَلَةُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرٌو أَنَّ بُكَيْرًا حَدَّثَهُ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ يَسَارٍ أَنَّ مَسْعُودَ بْنَ الْحَكَمِ حَدَّثَهُ عَنْ أُمِّهِ قَالَتْ

مَرَّ بِنَا رَاكِبٌ وَنَحْنُ بِمِنًى مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ يُنَادِي فِي النَّاسِ «لَا تَصُومُنَّ هَذِهِ الْأَيَّامَ فَإِنَّهَا أَيَّامُ أَكْلٍ وَشُرْبٍ» فَقَالَتْ أُخْتِي هَذَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ وَقُلْتُ أَنَا لَا بَلْ هُوَ فُلَانٌ

بَيْنَمَا نَحْنُ بِمِنًى إِذَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ يَقُولُ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ إِنَّ هَذِهِ أَيَّامُ أَكْلٍ وَشُرْبٍ فَلا يَصُومُهَا أَحَدٌ وَاتَّبَعَ النَّاسَ عَلَى جَمَلِهِ يَصْرُخُ بِذَلِكَ
