[Machine] A man died in the city where he was born, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ offered the funeral prayer for him. The Messenger ﷺ said, "I wish he had died in a place other than his birthplace." They asked, "Why, O Messenger of Allah?" He replied, "When a person dies in a place other than his birthplace, it is as if he has traveled from his birthplace to the point where his footprints end in Paradise." Abu Abdur-Rahman Huwayy ibn Abdullah said to us, "He is not a reliable narrator for us, and this hadith is not well-preserved. Allah knows best. For the authentic narration from the Prophet ﷺ is, 'Whoever among you is able to die in Madinah, then I will intercede for him.'"

"A man who had been born in Al-Madinah died there, and the Messenger of Allah prayed for him, then he said: 'Would that he had died somewhere other than the place where he was born.' They said: 'Why is that, O Messenger of Allah?' He said: If a man dies somewhere other than the place where he was born, a space in him equal to the distance between the place where he was born and the place where he died."
