14. Ceremonial for Newborn Animals
١٤۔ كِتَابُ الْفَرَعِ وَالْعَتِيرَةِ
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade (the use of) the skins of beasts of prey. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 4132)
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ «نَهَى عَنْ جُلُودِ السِّبَاعِ»
"The Messenger of Allah forbade silk, gold and saddlecloths (Miyathir) made of leopard skin. (Using translation from Nasāʾī 4254)
«نَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَنِ الْحَرِيرِ وَالذَّهَبِ وَمَيَاثِرِ النُّمُورِ»
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prohibited wearing the skins of wild animals and riding on them. Abu 'Abd al-Rahman said, "The most authentic opinion in this matter is regarding the skins of dead animals, if they have been tanned." This is narrated by al-Zuhri from 'Ubaidullah ibn 'Abdullah ibn 'Utbah from Ibn 'Abbas.
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ نَهَى عَنْ لُبْسِ جُلُودِ السِّبَاعِ وَالرُّكُوبِ عَلَيْهَا؟ قَالَ «نَعَمْ» قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ أَصَحُّ مَا فِي هَذَا الْبَابِ فِي جُلُودِ الْمَيْتَةِ إِذَا دُبِغَتْ حَدِيثُ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ
