The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: If anyone says on hearing the Mu'adhdhin: I testify that there is no god but Allah alone. Who has no partner, and that Muhammad is His servant and His Messenger, (and that) I am satisfied with Allah as my Lord, with Muhammad as Messenger. and with Islam as din (code of life), his sins would be forgiven. In the narration transmitted by Ibn Rumh the words are:" He who said on hearing the Mu'adhdhin and verity I testify." ' Qutaiba has not mentioned his words:" And I."

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَنَّهُ قَالَ مَنْ قَالَ حِينَ يَسْمَعُ الْمُؤَذِّنَ أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لاَ شَرِيكَ لَهُ وَأَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ رَضِيتُ بِاللَّهِ رَبًّا وَبِمُحَمَّدٍ رَسُولاً وَبِالإِسْلاَمِ دِينًا غُفِرَ لَهُ ذَنْبُهُ قَالَ ابْنُ رُمْحٍ فِي رِوَايَتِهِ مَنْ قَالَ حِينَ يَسْمَعُ الْمُؤَذِّنَ وَأَنَا أَشْهَدُ وَلَمْ يَذْكُرْ قُتَيْبَةُ قَوْلَهُ وَأَنَا

If anyone says when he hears the MU’ADHDHIN : “And I testify that there is no god but Allah alone who has no partner and that Muhammad is His servant and Apostle: I am satisfied with Allah as lord, with Muhammad as apostle and with Islam as religion”, he will be forgiven.

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ مَنْ قَالَ حِينَ يَسْمَعُ الْمُؤَذِّنَ وَأَنَا أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لاَ شَرِيكَ لَهُ وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ رَضِيتُ بِاللَّهِ رَبًّا وَبِمُحَمَّدٍ رَسُولاً وَبِالإِسْلاَمِ دِينًا غُفِرَ لَهُ

Messenger of Allah said: "Whoever says, when he hears the Mu'adh-dhin: (Wa Ana Ashadu An La Ilaha Illallah, Wahdahu La Sharika Lahu, Wa Anna Muhammadan Abduhu Wa Rasuluhu, Radittu Billahi Rabban Wa Bil-Islam Dinan, Wa Bi Muhammadin Rasulan) 'I too testify that none has the right to be worshiped but Allah, Alone without partners, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger, I am pleased with Allah as my Lord, with Islam as my religion and Muhammad as a Messenger.' - Allah will pardon his sins for him."

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ مَنْ قَالَ حِينَ يَسْمَعُ الْمُؤَذِّنَ وَأَنَا أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لاَ شَرِيكَ لَهُ وَأَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ رَضِيتُ بِاللَّهِ رَبًّا وَبِمُحَمَّدٍ رَسُولاً وَبِالإِسْلاَمِ دِينًا غُفِرَ لَهُ ذَنْبُهُ

"Whoever says, when he hears the Mu'adhdhin: 'Ashhadu an la ilaha illallah wahdahu la sharika lahu wa anna Muhammadan 'abduhu wa Rasuluhu, raditu Billahi Rabban, wa bil-Islami dinan was bi Muhammadin Rasula (I bear witness that there is none worthy of worship except Allah alone, with no partner or associate, and that Muhammad is the His slave and Messenger; I am content with Allah as my Lord, Islam as my religion and Muhammad as my Messenger),' his sins will be forgiven."

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ مَنْ قَالَ حِينَ يَسْمَعُ الْمُؤَذِّنَ وَأَنَا أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لاَ شَرِيكَ لَهُ وَأَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ رَضِيتُ بِاللَّهِ رَبًّا وَبِمُحَمَّدٍ رَسُولاً وَبِالإِسْلاَمِ دِينًا غُفِرَ لَهُ ذَنْبُهُ

"The Messenger of Allah taught us the Tashahhud for Salah and the Tashahhud upon Al-Hajah. He said: 'The Tashahhud upon the occasion of marriage is: Alhamdu lillahi nasta'inahu wa nastaghfiruhu, wa na'udhu billahi min shururi anfusina, man yahdih Illahu fala mudilla lahu wa man yudlil Illahu fala hadiya lahu, wa ashhadu an la ilaha illallah, wa ashhadu anna Muhammadan 'abduhu wa rasuluhu (Praise be to Allah, we seek His help and His forgiveness. We seek refuge with Allah from the evil of our own souls. Whomsoever Allah guides will never be led astray, and whomsoever Allah leaves astray, no one can guide. I bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger).' Then he recited three Verses."

عَلَّمَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ التَّشَهُّدَ فِي الصَّلاَةِ وَالتَّشَهُّدَ فِي الْحَاجَةِ قَالَ التَّشَهُّدُ فِي الْحَاجَةِ أَنِ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ نَسْتَعِينُهُ وَنَسْتَغْفِرُهُ وَنَعُوذُ بِاللَّهِ مِنْ شُرُورِ أَنْفُسِنَا مَنْ يَهْدِهِ اللَّهُ فَلاَ مُضِلَّ لَهُ وَمَنْ يُضْلِلِ اللَّهُ فَلاَ هَادِيَ لَهُ وَأَشْهَدُ أَنْ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ وَيَقْرَأُ ثَلاَثَ آيَاتٍ

"Innal-hamda lillahi nahmaduhu wa nasta'inahu, man yahdih Illahu fala mudilla lahu wa man yudlil Illahu fala hadiya lahu, wa ashhadu an la ilaha illallahu (wahdahu lasharika lahu) wa ashhadu anna Muhammadan 'abdahu wa rasuluhu. Amma ba'd (Praise be to Allah, we seek His help. Whomsoever Allah guides will never be led astray, and whomsoever Allah leaves astray, no one can guide. I bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah (alone with no partners) and I bear witness that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger. To proceed)."

أَنَّ رَجُلاً كَلَّمَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فِي شَىْءٍ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ إِنَّ الْحَمْدَ لِلَّهِ نَحْمَدُهُ وَنَسْتَعِينُهُ مَنْ يَهْدِهِ اللَّهُ فَلاَ مُضِلَّ لَهُ وَمَنْ يُضْلِلِ اللَّهُ فَلاَ هَادِيَ لَهُ وَأَشْهَدُ أَنْ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لاَ شَرِيكَ لَهُ وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَمَّا بَعْدُ

The Messenger of Allah said: "Whoever says, when he hears the Mu'adh-dhin, 'Wa ana Ash-hadu an la ilaha illallah wahdahu la sharika lahu, wa ash-hadu anna Muhammadan 'abduhu wa rasuluhu, radaytu Billahi rabban wa bil-islami dinan wa bi muhammadin nabiyyan (And I bear witness that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah alone, with no partner, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger, and I am content with Allah as my Lord, Islam as my religion and Muhammad as my Prophet),' his sins will be forgiven to him."

The Prophet ﷺ said: “Al-hamdu lillahi nahmadhu wa nastaʿinuhu wa naʿudhu billahi min shururi anfusina wa min sayi'ati aʿmalina, man yahdihillahu fala mudilla lahu, wa man yudlil fala hadiya lahu. Wa ashadu an la ilaha illallahu wahduhu la sharika lahu, wa anna Muhammadan ʿabduhu wa rasuluhu. Amma baʿd. (Praise is to Allah, we praise Him and we seek His help. We seek refuge with Allah from the evil of our own souls and from our bad deeds, Whomsoever Allah guides will never be led astray; and whomsoever is led astray, no one can guide. I bear witness that none has the right to be worshiped but Allah, alone with no partner or associate, and that Muhammad is His slave and His Messenger. To proceed).”

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَلَّمَ رَجُلًا فِي شَيْءٍ فَقَالَ إِنَّ الْحَمْدَ لِلَّهِ نَحْمَدُهُ وَنَسْتَعِينُهُ مَنْ يَهْدِهِ اللهُ فَلَا مُضِلَّ لَهُ وَمَنْ يُضْلِلْ فَلَا هَادِيَ لَهُ وَأَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ

[AI] On the authority of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , he said, "Whoever says, when he hears the Mu'adhin (the caller to prayer), 'I bear witness that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah alone, without any partners, and that Muhammad is His slave and messenger, I am pleased with Allah as my Lord, Muhammad as His slave, and Islam as my religion, his sins will be forgiven.'" This hadith is authentic and it was not narrated by al-Hakam bin Abdullah. He is the brother of Muhammad bin Abdullah bin Qais bin Makhrama al-Qurashi. Additionally, it was also narrated from above Ali bin Abi Talib al-Himsi in the addition of al-Thabit.

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ مَنْ قَالَ حِينَ سَمِعَ الْمُؤَذِّنَ وَأَنَا أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ وَأَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ رَضِيتُ بِاللَّهِ رِبًّا وَبِمُحَمَّدٍ نَبِيًّا وَبِالْإِسْلَامِ دِينًا غُفِرَ لَهُ ذَنْبُهُ «» صَحِيحٌ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ وَالْحَكَمُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ هُوَ أَخُو مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ قَيْسِ بْنِ مَخْرَمَةَ الْقُرَشِيُّ وَفِي الثَّبْتِ فَوْقَ عَلِيِّ بْنِ عَبَّاسٍ الْحِمْصِيِّ صحيح

قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مَنْ قَالَ حِينَ يَسْمَعُ الْمُؤَذِّنَ وَأَنَا أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ رَضِيتُ بِاللَّهِ رِبًّا وَبِمُحَمَّدٍ رَسُولًا وَالْإِسْلَامِ دِينًا غُفِرَ لَهُ ذَنْبُهُ وَهَذَا الْحَدِيثُ لَا نَعْلَمُهُ يُرْوَى بِهَذَا اللَّفْظِ إِلَّا عَنْ سَعْدٍ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ taught us the Tashahhud during times of need: "Indeed, all praise is due to Allah. We seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. We seek refuge with Allah from the evils of ourselves. Whoever Allah guides, no one can misguide, and whoever Allah allows to be misguided, no one can guide. And I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, and that Muhammad is His servant and messenger."

عَلَّمَنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ التَّشَهُّدَ فِي الْحَاجَةِ «إِنَّ الْحَمْدَ لِلَّهِ نَسْتَعِينُهُ وَنَسْتَغْفِرُهُ وَنَعُوذُ بِاللهِ مِنْ شُرُورِ أَنْفُسِنَا مَنْ يَهْدِهِ اللهُ فَلَا مُضِلَّ لَهُ وَمِنْ يُضْلِلْ فَلَا هَادِيَ لَهُ وَأَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وَأَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ»

[AI] "Narrated by the Prophet ﷺ that he used to say in the sermon of necessity, 'Praise be to Allah, we seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. We seek refuge in Allah from the evil within ourselves. Whoever Allah guides, there is no one who can lead him astray, and whoever He leads astray, there is no guide for him. I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and messenger. Whoever obeys Allah and His messenger has been guided, and whoever disobeys them harms only themselves. Allah will not be harmed by anyone.'"

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَقُولُ فِي خِطْبَةِ الْحَاجَةِ «الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ نَسْتَعِينُهُ وَنَسْتَغْفِرُهُ وَنَعُوذُ بِاللهِ مِنْ شُرُورِ أَنْفُسِنَا مَنْ يَهْدِهِ اللهُ فَلَا مُضِلَّ لَهُ وَمَنْ يُضْلِلْ فَلَا هَادِيَ لَهُ وَأَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ مَنْ يُطِعِ اللهَ وَرَسُولَهُ فَقَدْ رَشَدَ وَمَنْ يَعْصِهِمَا فَلَا يَضُرُّ إِلَّا نَفْسَهُ وَلَنْ يَضُرَّ اللهَ شَيْئًا»

Wa ashadu an la ilaha illallahu wahduhu la sharika lahu, wa anna Muhammadan ʿabduhu wa rasuluhu. Amma baʿd. (Praise is to Allah, we praise Him and we seek His help. We seek refuge with Allah from the evil of our own souls and from our bad deeds, Whomsoever Allah guides will never be led astray; and whomsoever is led astray, no one can guide. I bear witness that none has the right to be worshiped but Allah, alone with no partner or associate, and that Muhammad is His slave and His Messenger. عَلَّمَنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ التَّشَهُّدَ فِي الْحَاجَةِ «إِنَّ الْحَمْدَ لِلَّهِ نَسْتَعِينُهُ وَنَسْتَغْفِرَهُ وَنَعُوذُ بِاللهِ مِنْ شُرُورِ أَنْفُسِنَا مَنْ يَهْدِ اللهُ فَلَا مُضِلَّ لَهُ وَمَنْ يُضْلِلْ فَلَا هَادِيَ لَهُ وَأَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وَأَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ» وَيَقْرَأُ ثَلَاثَ آيَاتٍ تَابَعَهُ الْمَسْعُودِيُّ

[AI] Praise be to Allah, in accordance with His worthiness and as it is fitting for Him. And I bear witness that there is no deity but Allah, alone, without any partner, and I testify that Muhammad is His servant and messenger. May peace and blessings be upon him, his family, and his companions.

الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ بِمَا هُوَ أَهْلُهُ وَكَمَا يَنْبَغِي لَهُ وَأَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ وَأَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ صَلَّى الله عَلَيْهِ وَعَلَى آلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ تَسْلِيمًا

If anyone says when he hears the MU’ADHDHIN : “And I testify that there is no god but Allah alone who has no partner and that Muhammad is His servant and Apostle: I am satisfied with Allah as lord, with Muhammad as apostle and with Islam as religion”, he will be forgiven. عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ مَنْ قَالَ حِينَ يَسْمَعُ الْمُؤَذِّنَ وَأَنَا أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ وَأَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ رَضِيتُ بِاللهِ رِبًّا وَبِمُحَمَّدٍ رَسُولًا وَبِالْإِسْلَامِ دِينًا غُفِرَ لَهُ

When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ addressed, he would say: Praise be to Allah, from Whom we seek help and pardon,and we seek refuge in Allah from the evils of our souls. He whom Allah guide has no one who can lead him astray, and he whom He leads astray has no one to guide him. And I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and apostle. He sent him before the coming of the last hour with truth giving good tidings and warning. He who obeys Allah and His Apostle follows the right path; and he who disobeys them shall harm none except himself, and he will not harm Allah in the least. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1097)

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَتَشَهَّدُ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ نَحْمَدُهُ وَنَسْتَعِينُهُ نَعُوذُ بِاللهِ مِنْ شُرُورِ أَنْفُسِنَا مَنْ يَهْدِهِ اللهُ فَلَا مُضِلَّ لَهُ وَمَنْ يُضْلِلْ فَلَا هَادِيَ لَهُ أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَرْسَلَهُ بِالْحَقِّ بَشِيرًا وَنَذِيرًا بَيْنَ يَدَيِ السَّاعَةِ مَنْ يُطِعِ اللهَ وَرَسُولَهُ فَقَدْ رَشَدَ وَمَنْ يَعْصِهِ فَإِنَّهُ لَا يَضُرُّ اللهَ شَيْئًا وَلَا يَضُرُّ إِلَّا نَفْسَهُ

"Innal-hamda lillahi nahmaduhu wa nasta'inahu, man yahdih Illahu fala mudilla lahu wa man yudlil Illahu fala hadiya lahu, wa ashhadu an la ilaha illallahu (wahdahu lasharika lahu) wa ashhadu anna Muhammadan 'abdahu wa rasuluhu. Amma ba'd (Praise be to Allah, we seek His help. Whomsoever Allah guides will never be led astray, and whomsoever Allah leaves astray, no one can guide. I bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah (alone with no partners) and I bear witness that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger. To proceed)." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 3278)

"إِنَّ الحمدَ (لله) نحْمَدُهُ ونستعينه ونعوذُ بالله من شرورِ أنفُسِنا، وسيئاتِ أعمالنا، من يهده الله فلا مُضِل له، ومن يُضْلِلْ فلا هادَى له، واشهد أن لا إِلهَ إِلا الله، وحدَه لا شريكَ له، وأَنَّ محمدًا عبده ورسولهُ".

"الحمدُ للهِ نَسْتَعِينُهُ ونَسْتَغْفِرُه ونَسْتَهْديه ونَسْتنْصرهُ، ونعُوذُ به من شُرورِ أنفُسِنَا وسيئاتِ أعْمالِنَا، من يَهدِه اللهُ فلا مُضل له، ومن يُضْلِلْ فلا هَادِى لَه، وأَشْهَدُ أنْ لا إِلَه إِلا اللهُ وأشْهَدُ أَن محمدًا عبده ورسوله، مَنْ يُطِع الله ورَسُولهُ فقد رَشَد ومن يَعْص الله ورسولَه فقد غَوَى، حتى يَفِئَ إِلى أمر الله".

"الحَمْدُ لله نحْمَده ونسْتعيِنه ونَعوذ باللهِ من شرورِ أنفسنا، من يَهدِهِ الله فلا مُضِّلَ له، ومن يضلِل فلا هَادِى له، وأَشْهدُ أن لا إله إلا اللهُ وأنَّ مُحمدًا عَبْدُه ورسوله، أرسله بالحقّ بشيرًا ونذيرًا بين يدي الساعة، من يُطع اللهَ ورسولَهُ فقد رَشَدَ ومن يَعْصِه فإِنَّهُ لا يَضرُّ شيئًا ولا يَضرُّ إِلا نفْسَهُ".

"مَنْ قَال حِينَ يَسْمَعُ الْمُؤَذِّنَ: وَأَنَا أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لا إِلهَ إِلا الله وَحْدَهُ لا شَرِيكَ لَهُ، وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ، رَضِيتُ بِالله رَبّا، وَبِمُحَمَّدٍ رَسُولًا، وَبِالإسْلَامِ دِينًا غَفَر الله لَهُ مَا تَقَدَّمَ مِنْ ذَنْبِهِ".

"عَنْ عَامِرِ بْنِ رَبِيعَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ سَعْدٍ أَنَّهُ قَالَ: مَنْ قَالَ إِذَا قَالَ الْمُؤَذِّنُ أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا الله: رَضِيتُ بِالله رَبّا وَبِالإِسْلَامِ دِينًا وَبِمُحَمَّدٍ نَبِيّا، غُفَرِ لَهُ ذُنُوبُهُ، فَقَالَ لَهُ رَجُلٌ: يَا سَعْدُ مَا تَقَدَّمَ مِنْ ذَنْبِهِ وَمَا تَأَخَّرَ، قَالَ: لَا هَكَذَا سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ الله ﷺ يَقُولُهُ".
