Abu Muammad al-Ansari, who was the close companion of Abu Qatada. narrated the hadith (which follows).  

مسلم:١٧٥١a – حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى التَّمِيمِيُّ أَخْبَرَنَا هُشَيْمٌ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ كَثِيرِ بْنِ أَفْلَحَ

عَنْ أَبِي مُحَمَّدٍ الأَنْصَارِيِّ وَكَانَ جَلِيسًا لأَبِي قَتَادَةَ قَالَ قَالَ أَبُو قَتَادَةَ وَاقْتَصَّ الْحَدِيثَ

[Machine] From Abu Muhammad Jalees, a companion of Abu Qatadah, he said: Abu Qatadah informed us that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever establishes evidence against a killer, then he is entitled to his property."
