May Allah ruin Ibn Zubair that he lies in attributing to the Mother of the Faithful, as he says: I heard her stating that Messenger of Allah (may'peace be upon him) had said: 'A'isha, if your people had not been new converts to Islam, I would have demolished the House and would have added (in it area) from the Hijr for your people have reduced the area from its foundations. Harith b. 'Abdullah b. Abu Rabi'a (Allah be pleased with him) said: Commander of the Faithful, don't say that, for I heard the Mother of the Faithful saying this, whereupon he said: If I had heard this before demolishing it, I would have left it in the state in which Ibn Zabair had built it.  

مسلم:١٣٣٣i – وَحَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حَاتِمٍ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ بَكْرٍ السَّهْمِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا حَاتِمُ بْنُ أَبِي صَغِيرَةَ عَنْ أَبِي قَزَعَةَ أَنَّ عَبْدَ الْمَلِكِ بْنَ مَرْوَانَ بَيْنَمَا هُوَ يَطُوفُ بِالْبَيْتِ إِذْ قَالَ قَاتَلَ اللَّهُ ابْنَ الزُّبَيْرِ حَيْثُ يَكْذِبُ عَلَى أُمِّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُهَا تَقُولُ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَا عَائِشَةُ لَوْلاَ حِدْثَانُ قَوْمِكِ بِالْكُفْرِ لَنَقَضْتُ الْبَيْتَ حَتَّى أَزِيدَ فِيهِ مِنَ الْحِجْرِ فَإِنَّ قَوْمَكِ قَصَّرُوا فِي الْبِنَاءِ فَقَالَ الْحَارِثُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي رَبِيعَةَ لاَ تَقُلْ هَذَا يَا أَمِيرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ فَأَنَا سَمِعْتُ أُمَّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ تُحَدِّثُ هَذَا قَالَ لَوْ كُنْتُ سَمِعْتُهُ قَبْلَ أَنْ أَهْدِمَهُ لَتَرَكْتُهُ عَلَى مَا بَنَى ابْنُ الزُّبَيْرِ

[Machine] He heard her saying, "Indeed, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'O Aisha, if it were not for the two incidents of your people embracing disbelief, I would have demolished the Kaaba and would have added more stones to it. Indeed, your people have been neglectful in its construction.'" He (Harith bin Abdullah) said to him (Umar ibn al-Khattab), "Do not say that, O Amir al-Mu'minin, for I heard Aisha saying this." He (Umar ibn al-Khattab) said, "Did you hear it?" He said, "I heard it." He (Umar ibn al-Khattab) said, "If I had heard this before demolishing it, I would have left it as Ibn Zubayr built it."  

أحمد:٢٦٢٥٦ – حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو يُونُسَ الْقُشَيْرِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو قَزَعَةَ أَنَّ عَبْدَ الْمَلِكِ بْنَ مَرْوَانَ بَيْنَمَا هُوَ يَطُوفُ بِالْبَيْتِ إِذْ قَالَ قَاتَلَ اللهُ ابْنَ الزُّبَيْرِ كَيْفَ يَكْذِبُ عَلَى أُمِّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَيَزْعُمُ

أَنَّهُ سَمِعَهَا وَهِيَ تَقُولُ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ يَا عَائِشَةُ لَوْلَا حِدْثَانُ قَوْمِكِ بِالْكُفْرِ نَقَضْتُ الْبَيْتَ حَتَّى أَزِيدَ فِيهِ مِنَ الْحِجْرِ إِنَّ قَوْمَكِ قَصَّرُوا فِي الْبِنَاءِ قَالَ فَقَالَ لَهُ الْحَارِثُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ لَا تَقُلْ هَذَا يَا أَمِيرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ فَأَنَا سَمِعْتُ عَائِشَةَ تَقُولُ هَذَا قَالَ أَنْتَ سَمِعْتَهُ؟ قَالَ أَنَا سَمِعْتُهُ قَالَ لَوْ سَمِعْتُ هَذَا قَبْلَ أَنْ أَنْقُضَهُ لَتَرَكْتُهُ عَلَى مَا بَنَى ابْنُ الزُّبَيْرِ

[Machine] Abdul Malik, while he was performing tawaf (circumambulation) around the Kaaba, said, "May Allah curse the son of Zubayr, as he lies about the mother of the believers, claiming that she said, 'I heard the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , say, 'O Aisha, if it were not for two incidents among your people involving disbelief, I would have demolished the Kaaba.''" My father said, An Ansari said, 'I would have reconstructed the Kaaba, adding more stones to it, for indeed your people have diminished its construction.' Al Harith bin Abdullah bin Abi Rabiah said, 'Don't say that, O Amir al-Mu'minin (Commander of the Believers), for I have heard the mother of the believers narrate this.' He (Abdul Malik) said, 'If I had heard this before I demolished it, I would have left it standing on the construction of Ibn Zubayr.'"  

أحمد:٢٦١٥١ – حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ بَكْرٍ السَّهْمِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا حَاتِمُ بْنُ أَبِي صَغِيرَةَ عَنْ أَبِي قَزَعَةَ

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "If it were not for the recent conversion of your people to disbelief, I would have demolished the Kaaba and expanded it with more stones. But since your people have recently shortened its construction, Al-Harith ibn Abdullah ibn Abi Rabiah said, 'Do not say that, O Commander of the Faithful, for I have heard the Mother of the Believers speak about this.' He said, 'If I had heard about this before I demolished it, I would have left it as it was, built by Ibn Az-Zubair.'"  

البيهقي:٩٣١٦ – أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عُثْمَانَ سَعِيدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدَانَ النَّيْسَابُورِيُّ ثنا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ إِمْلَاءً ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ وَالْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ قَالَ الْحُسَيْنُ حَدَّثَنَا وَقَالَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ أنبأ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ بَكْرٍ ثنا حَاتِمُ بْنُ أَبِي صَغِيرَةَ عَنْ أَبِي قَزَعَةَ أَنَّ عَبْدَ الْمَلِكِ بْنَ مَرْوَانَ بَيْنَمَا هُوَ يَطُوفُ بِالْبَيْتِ إِذْ قَالَ قَاتَلَ اللهُ ابْنَ الزُّبَيْرِ حَيْثُ يَكْذِبُ عَلَى أُمِّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُهَا تَقُولُ
