Yahya related to me from Malik from Nafi that when Abdullah ibn Umar missed anything of the prayer in which the imam recited out loud, he would stand up when the imam had said the taslim and recite what he owed out loud to himself.  

مالك:٣-٣٣وَحَدَّثَنِي عَنْ مَالِكٍ عَنْ نَافِعٍ

أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ كَانَ إِذَا فَاتَهُ شَىْءٌ مِنَ الصَّلاَةِ مَعَ الإِمَامِ فِيمَا جَهَرَ فِيهِ الإِمَامُ بِالْقِرَاءَةِ أَنَّهُ إِذَا سَلَّمَ الإِمَامُ قَامَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ فَقَرَأَ لِنَفْسِهِ فِيمَا يَقْضِي وَجَهَرَ

"عَنْ نَافِعٍ قَالَ: كَانَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ إِذَا فَاتَهُ شَىْءٌ مِنَ الصَّلاَةِ مَعَ الإِمَام الَّتِى يُعْلَنُ فِيهَا بِالقِرَاءَةِ، فَإِذَا سَلَّمَ الإِمَامُ قَامَ عَبْدُ اللهِ فَقَرَأ لِنَفْسِهِ".
