malik:19-14 – Ziyād > Mālik > Abū al-Naḍr a freed slave of ʿUmar b. ʿUbaydullāh > ʿAbdullāh b. Unays al-Juhanī

Ziyad related to me from Malik from Abu'n Nadr, the mawla of Umar ibn Ubaydullah, that Abdullah ibn Unays al-Juhani said to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ "Messenger of Allah, I am a man whose house is a long way away. Tell me one night so that I can stop my journey for it." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Stop on the twenty-third night of Ramadan."  

مالك:١٩-١٤ – وَحَدَّثَنِي زِيَادٌ عَنْ مَالِكٍ عَنْ أَبِي النَّضْرِ مَوْلَى عُمَرَ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ أُنَيْسٍ الْجُهَنِيَّ

قَالَ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنِّي رَجُلٌ شَاسِعُ الدَّارِ فَمُرْنِي لَيْلَةً أَنْزِلُ لَهَا فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ انْزِلْ لَيْلَةَ ثَلاَثٍ وَعِشْرِينَ مِنْ رَمَضَانَ

[Machine] I said, "O Messenger of Allah, I have a barren land where I can pray. So order me to bring it to the mosque and pray in it." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Bring it down for twenty-three nights."  

الطبراني:٢١٩٩ – حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى الْمُحَارِبِيُّ وَهَنَّادُ بْنُ السَّرِيِّ قَالَا ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْمُحَارِبِيُّ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ جَحْشٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ الْجُهَنِيِّ قَالَ

قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّ لِي بَادِيَةً أُصَلِّي فِيهَا فَمُرْنِي بِلَيْلَةٍ أَنْزِلُهَا إِلَى الْمَسْجِدِ فَأُصَلِّيَ فِيهِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «انْزِلْ لَيْلَةَ ثَلَاثٍ وَعِشْرِينَ»
