ابن ماجة:٣٤٧٥ – حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَلَمَةَ يَحْيَى بْنُ خَلَفٍ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الأَعْلَى عَنْ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ الْحُمَّى كِيرٌ مِنْ كِيرِ جَهَنَّمَ فَنَحُّوهَا عَنْكُمْ بِالْمَاءِ الْبَارِدِ

I heard the Prophet ﷺ saying, "Fever is from the heat of the (Hell) Fire; so cool it with water."  

البخاري:٣٢٦٢ – حَدَّثَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ عَبَّاسٍ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَبَايَةَ بْنِ رِفَاعَةَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي رَافِعُ بْنُ خَدِيجٍ قَالَ

سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَقُولُ الْحُمَّى مِنْ فَوْرِ جَهَنَّمَ فَأَبْرِدُوهَا عَنْكُمْ بِالْمَاءِ  

malik:50-16 – Mālik > Hishām b. ʿUrwah from his father

Yahya related to me from Malik from Hisham ibn Urwa from his father that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Fever is from the vehemence of the heat of Jahannam, so cool it with water."  

مالك:٥٠-١٦ – وَحَدَّثَنِي عَنْ مَالِكٍ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ
