ذِكْرُ الْإِخْبَارِ عَنِ إِهْوَاءِ حَجَرٍ فِي النَّارِ سَبْعِينَ خَرِيفًا

ibnhibban:7469 – Aḥmad b. al-Ḥasan b. ʿAbd al-Jabbār > al-Haytham b. Khārijah > Khalaf b. Khalīfah > Yazīd b. Kaysān > Abū Ḥāzim > Abū Hurayrah

We were in the company of Messenger of Allah ﷺ that we heard a terrible sound. Thereupon Allah's Apostle ﷺ said: Do you know what (sound) is this? We said: Allah and His Messenger know best. Thereupon he said: That is a stone which was thrown seventy years before in Hell and it has'been constantly slipping down and now it has reached its base. (Using translation from Muslim 2844a)   

ابن حبّان:٧٤٦٩ – أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْجَبَّارِ حَدَّثَنَا الْهَيْثَمُ بْنُ خَارِجَةَ حَدَّثَنَا خَلَفُ بْنُ خَلِيفَةَ عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ كَيْسَانَ عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ

بَيْنَا نَحْنُ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِذْ سَمِعَ وَجْبَةً فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «أَتَدْرُونَ مَا هَذِهِ؟ » قُلْنَا اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَعْلَمُ قَالَ «هَذِهِ حَجَرٌ رُمِيَ بِهِ فِي النَّارِ مُنْذُ سَبْعِينَ خَرِيفًا فَالْآنَ انْتَهَى إِلَى قَعْرِ النَّارِ»

مسلم:٢٨٤٤a – حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَيُّوبَ حَدَّثَنَا خَلَفُ بْنُ خَلِيفَةَ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ كَيْسَانَ عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ

كُنَّا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِذْ سَمِعَ وَجْبَةً فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ تَدْرُونَ مَا هَذَا قَالَ قُلْنَا اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَعْلَمُ قَالَ هَذَا حَجَرٌ رُمِيَ بِهِ فِي النَّارِ مُنْذُ سَبْعِينَ خَرِيفًا فَهُوَ يَهْوِي فِي النَّارِ الآنَ حَتَّى انْتَهَى إِلَى قَعْرِهَا

[Machine] We were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ one day when we heard a loud noise. The Prophet ﷺ said, "Do you know what this is?" We said, "Allah and His Messenger know best." He said, "This is a rock that has been thrown into Hell for seventy autumns, and now it has reached its bottom."  

أحمد:٨٨٣٩ – حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا خَلَفُ بْنُ خَلِيفَةَ عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ كَيْسَانَ عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ

كُنَّا عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ يَوْمًا فَسَمِعْنَا وَجْبَةً فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ أَتَدْرُونَ مَا هَذَا؟ قُلْنَا اللهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَعْلَمُ قَالَ هَذَا حَجَرٌ أُرْسِلَ فِي جَهَنَّمَ مُنْذُ سَبْعِينَ خَرِيفًا فَالْآنَ انْتَهَى إِلَى قَعْرِهَا
