ذِكْرُ الْبَيَانِ بِأَنَّ هَذَا الرَّجُلَ الَّذِي نَحَّى غُصْنَ الشَّوْكِ عَنِ الطَّرِيقِ لَمْ يَعْمَلْ خَيْرًا غَيْرَهُ

ibnhibban:538 – ʿAbd al-Raḥman b. Ziyād al-Kattānī Bi-al-Ubullah > al-Ḥasan b. Muḥammad b. al-Ṣabbāḥ > Abū Muʿāwiyah > Hishām b. ʿUrwah from his father > Abū Hurayrah

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "A man from among those who came before you was held accountable and nothing good was found for him except for a thorny branch that was on the road and used to harm people. So, he was removed from it, and he was forgiven."  

ابن حبّان:٥٣٨ – أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ زِيَادٍ الْكَتَّانِيُّ بِالْأُبُلَّةِ حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الصَّبَّاحِ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «حُوسِبَ رَجُلٌ مِمَّنْ كَانَ قَبْلَكُمْ فَلَمْ يُوجَدْ لَهُ مِنَ الْخَيْرِ إِلَّا غُصْنُ شَوْكٍ كَانَ عَلَى الطَّرِيقِ كَانَ يُؤْذِي النَّاسَ فَعَزَلَهُ فَغُفِرَ لَهُ»
