ذِكْرُ الزَّجْرِ عَنْ أَنْ يَكُونَ الْمَرْءُ عَبْدَ الدِّينَارِ وَالدِّرْهَمِ

ibnhibban:3218Abū Yaʿlá Bi-al-Mawṣil > al-Ḥasan b. Ḥammād Sajjādah > Abū Bakr b. ʿAyyāsh > Abū Ḥuṣayn > Abū Ṣāliḥ > Abū Hurayrah

“Wretched is the slave of the Dinar and the slave of the Dirham, and the slave of velvet and the slave of the Khamisah.* If he is given, he is pleased and if he is not given, he does not fulfill (his oath of allegiance).” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 4135)   

ابن حبّان:٣٢١٨أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو يَعْلَى بِالْمَوْصِلِ حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ حَمَّادٍ سَجَّادَةٌ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ عَنْ أَبِي حُصَيْنٍ عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «تَعِسَ عَبْدُ الدِّينَارِ وَعَبْدُ الدِّرْهَمِ وَعَبْدُ الْقَطِيفَةِ وَعَبْدُ الْخَمِيصَةِ إِنْ أُعْطِيَ رَضِيَ وَإِنْ مُنِعَ سَخِطَ»

The Prophet ﷺ said, "Perish the slave of Dinar, Dirham, Qatifa (thick soft cloth), and Khamisa (a garment), for if he is given, he is pleased; otherwise he is dissatisfied."
