ذِكْرُ كَرَاهِيَةِ سَبِّ أَلَمِ الْحُمَّى لِذَهَابِ خَطَايَاهُ بِهَا

ibnhibban:2938 – Abū Yaʿlá > al-Qawārīrī > Yazīd b. Zurayʿ > al-Ḥajjāj al-Ṣawwāf > Abū al-Zubayr > Jābir b. ʿAbdullāh

Umm Sa'ib or Umm Musayyib. why is it that you are shivering? She said:" It is fever and may it not be blessed by Allah, whereupon he (the Holy Prophet) said: Don't curse fever for it expiates the sin of the children of Adam just as furnace removes the alloy of iron. ابن حبّان:٢٩٣٨ – أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو يَعْلَى قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْقَوَارِيرِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْحَجَّاجُ الصَّوَّافُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي جَابِرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ دَخَلَ عَلَى أُمِّ السَّائِبِ أَوْ أُمِّ الْمُسَيَّبِ وَهِيَ تُرَفْرِفُ فَقَالَ «مَا لَكِ يَا أُمَّ السَّائِبِ أَوْ يَا أُمَّ الْمُسَيَّبِ تَرَفْرِفِينَ؟ » قَالَتِ الْحُمَّى لَا بَارِكَ اللَّهُ فِيهَا فَقَالَ ﷺ «لَا تَسُبِّي الْحُمَّى فَإِنَّهَا تُذْهِبُ خَطَايَا ابْنِ آدَمَ كَمَا يُذْهِبُ الْكِيرُ خَبَثَ الْحَدِيدِ»
