ibnhibban:2271Abū Khalīfah > Ibrāhīm b. Bashhār al-Ramādī > Sufyān > Ibn ʿAjlān > ʿIyāḍ b. ʿAbdullāh b. Saʿd b. Abū al-Sarḥ > Abū Saʿīd al-Khudrī

[Machine] Abu Sa'id Al-Khudri heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying: "He used to like these toothpicks and hold them in his hand. Then he would enter the mosque, and in his hand would be a stick from them. He would rub it against his mouth, intending to clean his mouth while facing the qiblah. He prohibited a man from spitting in front of him or to his right hand side. He said, 'Let him spit on his left or under his left foot. If it is too quick for him, then let him place it in his garment and say like this,' and Sufyan pointed with his finger towards the corner of his sleeve, indicating that the residue should be rubbed there."
