[Machine] "He heard Abu Maryam, the slave of Abu Hurayrah, saying that Abu Hurayrah passed by Marwan while he was building his house in the middle of the city. So, I sat with him while the workers were working. Marwan said, 'Build strongly, have high hopes, and expect death soon.' Marwan said to Abu Hurayrah, 'What do you say to the workers, Abu Hurayrah?' He replied, 'I said to them, "Build strongly, have high hopes, and expect death soon, O people of Quraysh. Remember how you were yesterday and how you have become today, serving your enemies, the Persians and the Romans. You eat bread made from bran and fat meat. You do not eat your own meat and you cannot even compete with each other. Today you are small, but tomorrow you will be great. I swear by Allah, no one among you can elevate his status except that Allah will lower him on the Day of Resurrection."'

Adh-Dhahabi remained silent about this in his summarization."
