[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ had established brotherhood between a man from the emigrants and a man from the Ansar. We did not doubt that we were meant to inherit from each other in case one of us dies and has no heir. I thought that I would inherit him if he dies, and likewise, he would inherit me if I die. This continued until the following verse was revealed: "The relatives are more entitled to inheritance from each other" (Quran 33:6).
«كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَدْ آخَى بَيْنَ رَجُلٍ مِنَ الْمُهَاجِرِينَ وَرَجُلٍ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ فَلَمْ نَشُكَّ أَنَّا نَتَوَارَثُ لَوْ هَلَكَ كَعْبٌ وَلَيْسَ لَهُ مَنْ يَرِثُهُ فَظَنَنْتُ أَنِّي أَرِثُهُ وَلَوْ هَلَكْتُ كَذَلِكَ يَرِثُنِي» حَتَّى نَزَلَتْ هَذِهِ الْآيَةُ {وَأُولُو الْأَرْحَامِ بَعْضُهُمْ أَوْلَى بِبَعْضٍ} [الأحزاب 6]
