[Machine] That the Quraysh faced severe crises and Abu Talib had many dependents. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to his uncle Abbas, who belonged to the lesser branch of the Hashemite clan, "O Abu al-Fadl, your brother Abu Talib has many dependents and the people are suffering from what you see from this crisis. So come with me to him and we will relieve him of some of his dependents. You take one of his sons and I will take one, and we will take care of them on his behalf." Abbas agreed, so they went until they reached Abu Talib and said to him, "We want to relieve you of some of your dependents so that the people may see what they are going through." Abu Talib replied, "If you leave me Aqeel, then do as you please." So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ took Ali and held him close to himself, and Abbas took Ja'far and held him close to himself. Ali remained with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ until Allah made him a prophet and he followed him and believed in him. Abbas took Ja'far and Ja'far remained with Abbas until he embraced Islam and became independent.
