[Machine] It is said that he died from the injuries caused by the catapult stone while he was in Makkah. He stayed there for five days and then died. Abdullah ibn Zubayr, who was sixty-eight years old at the time, performed the funeral prayer for him.  

الحاكم:٦٢٢٥حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ الثَّقَفِيُّ ثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ زَكَرِيَّا ثَنَا خَلِيفَةُ بْنُ خَيَّاطٍ قَالَ مَاتَ الْمِسْوَرُ بْنُ مَخْرَمَةَ بِمَكَّةَ سَنَةَ أَرْبَعٍ وَسِتِّينَ

وَيُقَالُ إِنَّهُ مَاتَ بِالْحَجُونِ أَصَابَهُ حَجَرُ الْمَنْجَنِيقِ وَهُوَ فِي الْحَجَرِ بِمَكَّةَ فَمَكَثَ خَمْسًا ثُمَّ مَاتَ وَصَلَّى عَلَيْهِ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الزُّبَيْرِ وَهُوَ ابْنُ ثَمَانٍ وَسِتِّينَ سَنَةً
