His assets and properties were estimated to be worth thirty million dirhams. He was known to be generous with his wealth, clothing, and food. He was killed at the age of sixty-two."
«قُتِلَ طَلْحَةُ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ وَفِي يَدِ خَازِنِهِ أَلْفُ أَلْفَ دِرْهَمٍ وَمِئتَا أَلْفِ دِرْهَمٍ وَقُوِّمَتْ أُصُولُهُ وَعَقَارُهُ بِثَلَاثِينَ أَلْفَ أَلْفِ دِرْهَمٍ وَكَانَ فِيمَا ذَكَرَ جَوَّادًا بِالْمَالِ وَاللِّبْسِ وَالطَّعَامِ وَقُتِلَ يَوْمَ قُتِلَ وَهُوَ ابْنُ اثْنَتَيْنِ وَسِتِّينَ سَنَةً»
