الحاكم:٥١٢٣ – أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُؤَمَّلٍ ثنا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ حَنْبَلٍ ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ أَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ قَالَ

«مَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ أَعْلَى عِنْدَنَا مِنْ عُتْبَةَ أَخِيهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ وَلَكِنَّهُ مَاتَ سَرِيعًا»
