Caution: Translations of Quran and Ḥadīth may lead to possible misapplications and misinterpretations. This site is intended for students of sacred knowledge that are proficient in comprehending classical Arabic and have a strong foundation in Islamic sciences. Also note that religious injunctions rely on several aspects beyond what one may glean through reading individual aḥādīth.

[Machine] The last thing the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said to us was: "Stick to the Book of Allah, and you will return to a people who love Hadiths about me or something similar. Whoever memorizes something should narrate it, and whoever attributes to me something I did not say should take his seat in the Fire." This hadith is narrated by the last among them, and it is referenced by them. As for Abu Musa Malik ibn Ubada al-Ghafari, he is a companion who settled in Egypt. This hadith is one of the things we have transmitted from the companion if the way to him is authentic, although the farewell of al-Juhani also narrates it from Malik ibn Ubada al-Ghafari. This hadith combines two strange phrases, one of them being: "You will return to a people who love Hadiths about me," and the other being: "Whoever memorizes something should narrate it." A group of Islamic scholars have concluded that a narrator should only narrate what he has memorized, and they did not consider these two phrases as evidence.
