[Machine] Some of his companions entered upon him, and he had been afflicted in his body. So, some of them said to him, "We feel sorry for what has befallen you." He said to them, "Do not feel sorry for what you see, for it has befallen me due to a sin, and Allah forgives much." Then he recited the verse from Surah Ash-Shura (Chapter 42) from the verse "And whatever strikes you of disaster - it is for what your hands have earned, but He pardons much" until the end of the verse.  

الحاكم:٣٦٦٥أَخْبَرَنِي أَحْمَدُ بْنُ سَهْلٍ الْفَقِيهُ بِبُخَارَى ثنا صَالِحُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ حَبِيبٍ الْحَافِظُ ثنا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَأَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنِيعٍ وَزِيَادُ بْنُ أَيُّوبَ قَالُوا ثنا هُشَيْمٌ أَنْبَأَ مَنْصُورُ بْنُ زَاذَانَ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ قَالَ

دَخَلَ عَلَيْهِ بَعْضُ أَصْحَابِهِ وَقَدِ ابْتُلِيَ فِي جَسَدِهِ فَقَالَ لَهُ بَعْضُهُمْ إِنَّا لَنَبْتَئِسُ لَكَ لِمَا نَزَلَ فِيكَ قَالَ فَلَا تَبْتَئِسْ لِمَا تَرَى فَإِنَّمَا نَزَلَ بِذَنْبٍ وَمَا يَعْفُو اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَكْثَرُ قَالَ ثُمَّ تَلَا عِمْرَانُ هَذِهِ الْآيَةَ {وَمَا أَصَابَكُمْ مِنْ مُصِيبَةٍ فَبِمَا كَسَبَتْ أَيْدِيكُمْ وَيَعْفُو عَنْ كَثِيرٍ} [الشورى 30] إِلَى آخِرِ الْآيَةِ  

«هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحُ الْإِسْنَادِ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ» صحيح
