[Machine] "Women used to be entrepreneurs in the city, so Muslim men would marry women from among them so that they could support them financially. However, this practice was later prohibited."  

الحاكم:٣٤٩٥ – أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُؤَمَّلِ بْنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عِيسَى ثنا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ الشَّعْرَانِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَوْنٍ الْوَاسِطِيُّ ثنا هُشَيْمٌ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ التَّيْمِيُّ عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِ

فِي قَوْلِهِ تَعَالَى {الزَّانِي لَا يَنْكِحُ إِلَّا زَانِيَةً أَوْ مُشْرِكَةً} [النور 3] قَالَ «كُنَّ نِسَاءً مَرَارِدَ بِالْمَدِينَةَ فَكَانَ الرَّجُلُ الْمُسْلِمُ يُزَوِّجُ الْمَرْأَةَ مِنْهُنَّ لِتُنْفِقَ عَلَيْهِ فَنُهُوا عَنْ ذَلِكَ»  

هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحٌ عَلَى شَرْطِ الشَّيْخَيْنِ وَلَمْ يُخْرِجَاهُ على شرط البخاري ومسلم
