أُصِيبَ سَالِمٌ مَوْلَى أَبِي حُذَيْفَةَ يَوْمَ الْيَمَامَةِ فَبَلَغَ مِيرَاثُهُ مِائَتَيْ دِرْهَمٍ فَقَالَ عُمَرُ «احْبِسُوهَا عَلَى أُمِّهِ حَتَّى تَأْتِيَ عَلَى آخِرِهَا»
