[Machine] "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prohibited 'shighar'. Malik said, 'Shighar' is when a man gives his daughter in marriage to another man, while that man gives his daughter in marriage to the first man, without any dowry. Abu Muhammad was asked, 'Do you consider marriage between them valid?' He said, 'I do not approve of it.'"  

الدارمي:٢٢٢٦حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ مَخْلَدٍ حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكٌ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ

«نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَنِ الشِّغَارِ» قَالَ مَالِكٌ وَالشِّغَارُ أَنْ يُزَوِّجَ الرَّجُلُ الْآخَرَ ابْنَتَهُ عَلَى أَنْ يُزَوِّجَهُ الْآخَرُ ابْنَتَهُ بِغَيْرِ صَدَاقٍ قِيلَ لِأَبِي مُحَمَّدٍ تَرَى بَيْنَهُمَا نِكَاحًا قَالَ لَا يُعْجِبُنِي

bukhari:5112ʿAbdullāh b. Yūsuf > Mālik > Nāfiʿ > Ibn ʿUmar

Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade Ash-Shighar, which means that somebody marries his daughter to somebody else, and the latter marries his daughter to the former without paying Mahr.  

البخاري:٥١١٢حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ يُوسُفَ أَخْبَرَنَا مَالِكٌ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ؓ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ نَهَى عَنِ الشِّغَارِ وَالشِّغَارُ أَنْ يُزَوِّجَ الرَّجُلُ ابْنَتَهُ عَلَى أَنْ يُزَوِّجَهُ الآخَرُ ابْنَتَهُ لَيْسَ بَيْنَهُمَا صَدَاقٌ  

malik:28-26Yaḥyá > Mālik > Nāfiʿ > ʿAbdullāh b. ʿUmar

Yahya related to me from Malik from Nafi from Abdullah ibn Umar that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade shighar, which meant one man giving his daughter in marriage to another man on the condition that the other gave his daughter to him in marriage without either of them paying the bride-price.  

مالك:٢٨-٢٦حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى عَنْ مَالِكٍ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ نَهَى عَنِ الشِّغَارِ وَالشِّغَارُ أَنْ يُزَوِّجَ الرَّجُلُ ابْنَتَهُ عَلَى أَنْ يُزَوِّجَهُ الآخَرُ ابْنَتَهُ لَيْسَ بَيْنَهُمَا صَدَاقٌ
