[Machine] He is called Al-Wahṭu, and he is a young man from the Quraysh tribe. This young man is known for his habit of drinking alcohol. I said, "I have heard that you talk about the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, and say that he said, 'Whoever drinks alcohol, his prayers will not be accepted for forty mornings.' " When the young man heard the mention of alcohol, his hand shook with the hand of Abdullah. Then he turned away and Abdullah said, "O Allah, I do not allow anyone to attribute to me something I did not say. And I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, say, 'Whoever drinks alcohol, his prayers will not be accepted for forty mornings.' If he repents, then Allah will accept his repentance. But I don't know if it was in the third morning or the fourth morning that it became the right of Allah to make him drink from the pus of the putrid on the Day of Resurrection."

"I entered upon 'Abdullah bin 'Amr bin Al-'As when he was in a garden of his in At-Ta'if called Al-Waht. He was walking and holding hands with a young man of Quraish who was suspected of drinking Khamr. He said: 'I heard the Messenger of Allah [SAW] say: Whoever drinks Khamr once, his repentance will not be accepted for 40 days, then if he repents, Allah will accept his repentance. If he does it again, his repentance will not be accepted for 40 days, then if he repents, Allah will accept his repentance. If he does it again, his repentance will not be accepted for 40 days, then if he repents, Allah will accept his repentance. If he does it again (a fourth time), then it is a right upon Allah to make him drink from the mud of Khibal on the Day of Resurrection." This is the wording of 'Amr.
