The solar eclipse occurred while we were sitting with the Prophet ﷺ He got up dragging his garment (on the ground) hurriedly till he reached the mosque The people turned (to the mosque) and he offered a two-rakʿat prayer whereupon the eclipse was over and he traced us and said, "The sun and the moon are two signs among the signs of Allah, so if you see a thing like this (eclipse) then offer the prayer and invoke Allah till He remove that state."

[Machine] The sun was eclipsed during the time of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ , so he quickly got up and rushed to the mosque. The people followed him, and he performed two units of prayer. Afterwards, he turned to us and said, "Indeed, the sun and the moon are two signs from the signs of Allah, and by them, Allah frightens His servants. They do not eclipse for the death of anyone. His son, Ibrahim, passed away. So, when you see an eclipse, pray and supplicate to Allah until what is troubling you is removed."

[Machine] "We were with the Prophet ﷺ when the sun set, so he immediately rushed to the mosque, hastily removed his garment and performed two rak'ahs of prayer like your regular prayers. Then he turned to his companions and said, 'Indeed, the sun and the moon are two signs from the signs of Allah by which He instills fear in His servants. They do not eclipse due to the death of anyone among the people. Furthermore, my son has passed away. So, if you ever witness an eclipse, hasten to perform prayer until what you fear subsides.'"
