bukhari:3927 – ʿAbdullāh b. Muḥammad > Hishām > Maʿmar > al-Zuhrī > ʿUrwah > ʿUbaydullāh b. ʿAdī

I went to ʿUthman. After reciting Tashah-hud, he said,. "Then after no doubt, Allah sent Muhammad with the Truth, and I was amongst those who responded to the Call of Allah and His Prophet and believed in the message of Muhammad. Then took part in the two migrations. I became the son-in-law of Messenger of Allah ﷺ and gave the pledge of allegiance to him By Allah, I never disobeyed him, nor did I deceive him till Allah took him unto Him."  

البخاري:٣٩٢٧ – حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ حَدَّثَنِي عُرْوَةُ أَنَّ عُبَيْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عَدِيٍّ أَخْبَرَهُ دَخَلْتُ عَلَى عُثْمَانَ وَقَالَ بِشْرُ بْنُ شُعَيْبٍ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ حَدَّثَنِي عُرْوَةُ بْنُ الزُّبَيْرِ أَنَّ عُبَيْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عَدِيِّ بْنِ خِيَارٍ أَخْبَرَهُ قَالَ دَخَلْتُ عَلَى عُثْمَانَ فَتَشَهَّدَ ثُمَّ قَالَ

أَمَّا بَعْدُ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ بَعَثَ مُحَمَّدًا ﷺ بِالْحَقِّ وَكُنْتُ مِمَّنِ اسْتَجَابَ لِلَّهِ وَلِرَسُولِهِ وَآمَنَ بِمَا بُعِثَ بِهِ مُحَمَّدٌ ﷺ ثُمَّ هَاجَرْتُ هِجْرَتَيْنِ وَنِلْتُ صِهْرَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَبَايَعْتُهُ فَوَاللَّهِ مَا عَصَيْتُهُ وَلاَ غَشَشْتُهُ حَتَّى تَوَفَّاهُ اللَّهُ  

تَابَعَهُ إِسْحَاقُ الْكَلْبِيُّ حَدَّثَنِي الزُّهْرِيُّ مِثْلَهُ

Verily Allah, may He be glorified and exalted, sent Muhammad ﷺ with the truth and I was one of those who responded to (the call of) Allah and His Messenger, and I believed in that with which Muhammad ﷺ was sent. Then I migrated twice, and I also attained the honour of becoming the son-in-law of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ; I swore allegiance to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and by Allah, I never disobeyed him or betrayed him until Allah, may He be glorified and exalted, took his soul in death.  

أحمد:٥٦١ – حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ شُعَيْبِ بْنِ أَبِي حَمْزَةَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ حَدَّثَنِي عُرْوَةُ بْنُ الزُّبَيْرِ أَنَّ عُبَيْدَ اللهِ بْنَ عَدِيِّ بْنِ الْخِيَارِ أَخْبَرَهُأَنَّ عُثْمَانَ قَالَ

Did you meet the Messenger of Allah ﷺ? He said: No, but there reached me of his knowledge and certainty of faith that which would reach a virgin in her seclusion .He [ʿUthman] recited the tashahhud then he said: Verily Allah, may He be glorified and exalted, sent Muhammad with the truth and I was one of those who responded to (the call of) Allah and His Messenger, and I believed in that with which Muhammad ﷺ was sent. " عَنْ عُبَيْدِ الله بْنِ عَدِى بْنِ الْخِيَارِ أنَّ عُثْمَانَ قَالَ: إِنَّ الله بَعَثَ مُحَمَّدًا ﷺ بَالْحَقِّ (فَكُنْتُ) مِمَّن اسْتَجَابَ لله وَلرَسُولِهِ (وآمَنْتُ) بِمَا بُعِثَ به، وَهَاجَرْتُ الْهِجْرَتَيْنِ جَمِيعًا، وَنِلْتُ صِهْرَ رَسُولِ الله ﷺ وَبَايَعْتُ رَسُولَ الله ﷺ ، فَوَالله مَا عَصَيْتُهُ وَلاَ غَشَشْتُهُ حَتَّى تَوَفَّاهُ الله، وَصَلَّيْتُ القِبْلَتَيْنِ كِلْتَيْهِمَا، وَتُوُفِّىَ رَسُولُ الله ﷺ وَهُوَ عَنِّى رَاضٍ ".
