58.14 If a Dhimmi practises magic, can he be excused?

[Machine] Ibn Wahb said: Yunus informed me that Ibn Shihab was asked, "Who was the most skilled in sorcery among the people of the Covenant?" He replied, "We have been informed that the Messenger of Allah peace be upon him was affected by it, but he did not kill the one who did it, and he was from the People of the Book."

Once the Prophet ﷺ was bewitched so that he began to imagine that he had done a thing which in fact he had not done.
